ASRR's Mission is to:
To obtain
a government approved rabies vaccine and quarantine period for skunks so that
skunks, and the people who love them, can live in harmony without fear of rabies
or rabies testing.
The Goals of ASRR are:

Obtain U.S.
Department of Agriculture (USDA) approval for a rabies vaccine for skunks.

Establish a recognized quarantine period for
skunks, similar that of other domestic species, such as dogs, cats, ferrets,
etc. in the event of a bite to a human.

Act as a resource of information to individuals
in each state following the completion of the testing of the vaccine and the
identification of the quarantine period.
ASRR's Vision is that:
Once our
goals are accomplished, all domestic skunks can be free from both the threat of
rabies and the threat of testing for rabies. We also want to help their
counterparts in the fight against rabies in the wild.
